A gift that reflects the service behind the stories

Buying a Christmas present for someone who has served can be surprisingly difficult. They may already have the usual books and mugs, and a generic “military gift” might say very little about their time in the forces.

The best place to start is with the person: their service, regiment or corps, the years they served, and the stories they still enjoy telling. A small detail you remember can make a gift feel much more personal.

At Oaths of Allegiance, we make military keepsakes in the UK, by veterans. Here are a few ideas for Christmas 2026.

For the person who remembers the day they joined

An Oath of Allegiance frame marks a moment that often stays with someone for life: the day they made their commitment to serve.

Our personalised Oath frames include the recipient’s name and enlistment details. They make a thoughtful Christmas gift for a husband, wife, parent or grandparent who served in the British Army, Royal Air Force or Royal Navy. They are also suitable for someone still serving, particularly if you would like to mark their passing out or the beginning of their career.

You don’t need to write a grand speech when you give it to them. Sometimes, “I thought you’d like to have this” says plenty.

For someone proud of their regiment or corps

Ask a veteran about their old regiment or corps and you may find yourself settling in for a story. That connection can last long after their service ends.

Our Flanders Forged memorial poppies pair a representation of a military badge with a hand-painted red poppy. The range covers many regiments, corps and services, offering a Christmas gift that recognises the part of the forces most closely connected to them.

These pieces can be displayed throughout the year. They may be chosen as a tribute to someone remembered, or simply as a way to acknowledge service that remains an important part of a person’s life.

If you are buying for an RAF or Royal Navy veteran

A gift feels more considered when it reflects the right service. Our range includes RAF and Royal Navy Oath frames, as well as memorial poppies connected with different branches of the armed forces.

If you are buying for a parent or grandparent, it is worth checking any old photographs, documents or stories before choosing. Even one remembered detail can help you find something that feels like theirs.

If you don’t know all the service details

You may know that Dad served in the Army without knowing the exact date or place he enlisted. You might remember a regiment’s nickname but be less certain of its formal name.

For a personalised Oath, check the details before ordering if you can. Old service papers, photographs and family members may help. If those details remain a mystery, we can use regimental name and motto or you may consider a memorial poppy linked to the person’s regiment, corps or service as a more straightforward choice.

Order early for Christmas

Our pieces are made to order, so please allow up to 15 working days for dispatch, followed by delivery time. Christmas is a busy period for Royal Mail, and ordering early gives your gift the best chance of arriving comfortably before the day. Check the current delivery information when you order, particularly if you are sending a gift directly to someone else.

Whether it recalls the day they joined, the people they served alongside or the regiment they still talk about, a Christmas gift can give someone a reason to remember the good times.
