The Loader – Great War Ammunition Carrier Memorial Figure

Based on the Royal Artillery Memorial in Hyde park, The Loader is a veteran-made memorial figure created to honour the men who carried ammunition to the guns during the Great War.

Depicting a helmeted Great War soldier equipped with shell panniers hanging beside his legs, The Loader represents the men who carried ammunition forward to the guns. The distinctive carrying equipment reflects the physical burden of keeping artillery supplied and offers a thoughtful tribute to an essential part of wartime service.

The figure’s burden is central to the design: a reminder that service took many forms, and that courage was found not only in firing the guns, but also in carrying what they needed.

Carefully 3D printed and hand-finished in the UK by veterans, The Loader is presented in black on its own display plinth. Its understated finish allows the figure, equipment and symbolism to speak for themselves.

Suitable for year-round remembrance, this piece makes a meaningful addition to a military memorabilia collection or a thoughtful gift for anyone with an interest in the First World War, artillery heritage or a family connection to military service.
