About 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery
29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery took on its commando role in 1962. Based at the Royal Citadel in Plymouth, the regiment is widely known as the Commando Gunners, providing artillery support and gunnery observation to UK Commando Force.
Its soldiers combine Royal Artillery expertise with commando training, preparing them to operate in demanding environments, including mountains, deserts, jungles and the Arctic. Those who successfully complete the All Arms Commando Course earn the coveted green beret.
This memorial pays tribute to those who served with the regiment and honours their contribution, commitment and sacrifice.
